Today we finished up our beautiful artwork! We cannot wait to show you what we created with our Art Resident, Mrs. Stables.

We worked on our phonics. Sounding out words is hard. A great way to help your child learn to spell is to have them spell words out phonetically. That means only writing the sounds they hear. For example, School would be accepted as "scul" "skol" "skewl" "skool" etc.
Reading to your child each night is important and can help them in their own reading progress. Going over letter sounds and formation would also be beneficial. If you need any ideas please send me an email at milnelson@cbe.ab.ca
We will send "Home Reading" home soon. Please send in a large Ziploc bag for your child to bring to and from school. 

We discussed many different "Community People" and why they are important to our community. Ask your child about who they picked and why they are important.

Please send a baby picture of your child in by Friday October 23rd. We are learning about us in our world for Social Studies and we would like to do an art project about "Us." We would like to put these photographs up in our classroom and make special frames for them (glue may be used).
