We had a GREAT day at the Zoo yesterday! Thank you to all our Volunteers! We couldn't have done it without you!

We are VERY tired today! Mrs. Nelson tracked our steps yesterday and by the end of the day she said it was at 18000 steps!!!!! That must be why we're so tired!

Today was our last Friday of our Grade 1 year!!!!!

Have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day to all Dad's and Step-Dad's!!!!!

ZOO TOMORROW!!!!!

Don't forget about our field trip! Please watch the weather so we can be dressed appropriately. I have heard that it will rain AND I have heard that it will be sunny.... BE PREPARED!

Today we finished up our special gifts for Father's Day and we worked on our letters to our Grade 2 teachers!

Can't wait to see the Hippo's tomorrow!

We are going to the Zoo this week! It might be rainy, so please dress for the weather! We need to bring our backpack and make sure we have a water bottle (can be refilled as we pass water fountains), lunch, snack and sunscreen if they need to reapply.

Please make sure to apply sunscreen before they leave, just incase it turns out to be a beautiful sunny day! Students should also wear a hat!

Today, Mrs. Fillmore (a regular sub in Grade 1) showed us how to make Parfleche which is an aboriginal bag usually made out of the hide of animals. We will bring them home soon!

Hot lunch forms due on Wednesday, June 17th!

We have enough rocks!!! Thanks to everyone who brought extras in!

Thursday, June 11, 2015

We need rocks please! About the size of your hand. Nothing smaller and nothing too big! Some examples were shown today! We are doing a special project! One rock per student should be just fine! Thanks!

If library books were not returned for today, please send them in as soon as possible!

Volunteer Forms should be making their way home for our Zoo Field Trip! Please watch for these if you haven't already gto them!

Important Gym Message!!!

Summer is almost here! We are seeing signs of it everywhere. Talk with your child about signs of summer.
We are working so hard on subtraction. We are using manipulatives like a ruler, number line, hundred chart, buttons, blocks, popsicle sticks and lots of things. We are almost ready for Grade 2!!!!
We are celebrating lots of June Birthdays along with all our July and August Birthdays! It's a busy time!!!!
Some fun lunch forms came home, if your child did not get one, please remember to send their orange folder to school and have them put it in the proper place.
We are starting our track & field unit in phys ed and will be out in the hot sun performing a lot of different running drills as a build up to Sports Day. As the sun can be quite intense, I ask that students are prepared by arriving wearing sun screen and a hat and also having a water bottle. Another reminder to also ensure students are wearing proper footwear as they cannot run in flip flops or sandals.
Thanks for you support with this.
